Homemade Natural Deodorant Recipe

Have you ever wondered what was in regular store bought deodorants and antiperspirants? I sure didn't. Not for the longest time anyway. It wasn't until the last year that I started to really think about the stuff that I put on my skin, hair, and face. I started to wonder if all of those chemicals I couldn't pronounce were good for me.

This new curiosity has led me down some very interesting paths, one of them being deodorants. I did a little research on one of the main ingredients in a lot of today's antiperspirants; aluminium. Aluminium is a heavy metal and when used in skin care products clogs your pores. Despite what we are told, sweating is a very good thing! In our society today we view it as taboo but releasing toxins from your body through sweating is not only natural, it's necessary.

Not only is aluminium pore clogging, it is debated as having a connection to Alzheimer's disease, breast cancer, and other brain diseases. Until science settles this argument I have decided to use my good old fashion intuition on this one. My gut is the best pointer when I face conflicting information!

I have been wanting to make my own deodorant for a very long time. Not only have I made it, but I have made a video on how to do it below. I have to admit, I had my doubts about if this stuff would work. To my surprise it worked BETTER than I thought it would!

If you have experience with making or using homemade deodorant, please comment below! I am open to learning new recipes and techniques to making it, so if you have a different recipe I would love to hear it!

Thank you so much for reading! Have an awesome day!
